It's a quiet time to dwell in the mystery of God's presence--a rich and meaningful encounter with the living God. Spiritual Direction is a form of pastoral care that helps a believer grow in communion with God.

Spiritual Direction History
Spiritual Direction, with its roots in early church contemplative practices, is a form of pastoral care with a focus on creating a safe place to nurture, protect and honor your journey with God. While I practice in the Christian faith tradition, Spiritual Direction is for anyone, of any faith, who is seeking God. In the bible (Jeremiah 29:12-14) it tells us that when we call on God He will listen and when we seek Him with our heart, we will find Him. Spiritual Direction is an hour devoted to creating that sacred space to seek and find the God who promises to be found. It’s a quiet time to dwell in the mystery of God’s presence. It is a rich and meaningful encounter with the living God. Psalm 40:10 invites us to: “Be still and know that I am God.” Spiritual Direction embodies that verse. It helps us to be present and aware of God’s movement in and throughout our lives. Spiritual Direction provides a place of safety for you to deepen your faith with new spiritual practices, or simply to examine what is and isn’t working and find new ways and rhythms of life that help keep you moving toward God. It is my joy to help you create that sacred space where we look for, experience, and come to know God better.

What to Expect in a Spiritual Direction Session
During our time together we seek God by quieting ourselves to listen for the still small voice of God. From a place of stillness, we enter a contemplative practice (I often use some form of contemplative art), followed by a conversation about what you are experiencing of God. I listen and help you notice what God, through the Holy Spirit, is saying and doing in and around you. I will ask reflective questions to help you process your experiences and weave together the threads or “noticing’s” of God in our time together. We then look for how God is inviting you to respond to any new seed that has been planted. Spiritual Direction is a conversation between three as we invite the presence of God--a rich and satisfying conversation that is nourishing to the soul. It is an awakening to the gentle breezes of God that blow in our lives and the warmth of God’s love like the summer sun. I have found Spiritual Direction to be life changing. Session Rates |
Individual sessions are one hour, online or in my home office, appointments usually 1-2 times per month. I charge a standard fee on a sliding scale of $50-$60-$70, with you choosing the amount that is right for you. I believe so much in the value of spiritual direction and wouldn’t want a fee to keep you from receiving the gifts God has for you in direction. I trust God provides, so I ask you to pray and seek the amount God would have you pay. I am comfortable with any amount God leads you to. |
