“Contemplation is life itself, fully awake, fully active, and fully aware that it is alive. It is spiritual wonder. It is spontaneous awe at the sacredness of life, of being. It is gratitude for life, for awareness, and for being. It is a vivid realization of the fact that life and being in us proceed from an invisible, transcendent, and infinitely abundant source”. --Thomas Merton
Resource Introduction
Within this resource page you will find contemplative practices I have found helpful in my own life. This is by no means an exhaustive list since there are as many ways to find contemplation as there are people. I chose to feature those I have experienced as time honored, Christ centered practices that help us connect with God. While not all of them will be your “cup of tea”, I encourage you to try them all—and more than once, to see if there is something in it for you. Come with an open mind and heart to seek what God may have for you there. If you feel unsure trying them on your own or feel you are not doing it right, let me say you really can’t do these wrong. But I am available to lead you in one or combination of these through spiritual direction or in workshops or retreats which are listed on the events page. Feel free to contact me with questions and I will do my best to answer them!
